Sunshine on my shoulder

After little J eats, she likes to stretch or fall asleep on my shoulder. I had a great time trying to take pictures of her smiling.

Cutie patootie

Jocelyn is getting bigger and stronger every day. She weighed 11 pounds at her appointment a week ago. She has been smiling at us a little bit for the past few days, but we can't capture it on camera. She has been spitting up a lot, sometimes vomiting!, and we think she has a bad case of acid reflux. I'm hoping she grows out of it SOON. We never seem to have enough burp rags. :)

Our little one

Here's our little hippie in her Peas, Love and Happiness onesie. (Thanks, Phil & Sarah!) Of course, you can't tell she's wearing it because she's in her boxing stance. Hands up, Jocelyn!

She is so precious when she's asleep. I know I'm not supposed to let her sleep on her tummy . . . but I am close by making sure she's still breathing. :)


She's a little joey in her pouch! She likes going for walks outside and listening to the wild parrots of South Pasadena and the swoosh of cars on the 110. I'm sad because I know her lungs are probably already starting to turn black from the bad air here.

She is very alert these days and loves to stare at everything. I love her big belly!

One month and counting!

We made it past the one month mark, woohoo! Jocelyn is doing great. She had her first bottle this past weekend and gulped it down with lightning speed:


Her neck has gotten a lot stronger!


She hasn't mastered binocular vision, but maybe in a couple more months. She's still cute when she's cross-eyed though:

For the record . . .

Trent actually did win the competition. His tomato plants started producing little green tomatoes long before Jocelyn was born. Here are the first fruits of his labors:



But what's cuter? A little bell pepper and tomato or our little one?!

Bath time

She loves taking her nighttime bath, even though she's not smiling about it yet. And Trent loves hosing her down! Other things that Jocelyn loves to do: sucking the back of her hand and her arms, making Ewok noises while eating, and pooping right after we change her diaper. She slept for almost 6 hours in a row last night, a new personal best, yay!

She can play!

Well, she can play on accident. Check her out in her activity gym. :) Her hand made contact with the ladybug, but she probably had no control over that. We've also been trying to get pictures of her smiling in her sleep - which is absolutely adorable! Unfortunately, the smiles are evanescent and hard to capture on the camera. And check out her triple chin!! If you're wondering why the pictures aren't such great quality, it's because we turn the flash off so we won't blind her. We love you, Jocelyn!
