Knott's Berry Farm

Some good things happened last week. First, I got a day off, woohoo. Then we got in free to Knott's thanks to our very favorite veteran, Trent.

Meeting Snoopy

The train - probably her favorite ride

Riding the carousel. Jocelyn loves horses and says "neigh" when she sees them.

She was a little freaked out by the trucks.

Riding the cars with Dad. Trent was really into it. :)

Halloween

I don't have very many good pictures from Halloween because our camera started dying and a bunch of the pictures are fuzzy. But here are the best two.

Trick or treating for the first time. The sad part was that I didn't even let her eat any candy.

Sliding

Jocelyn loves to slide now! Here are some recent favorites.

Tunnel slide at Lacy Park

Super twisty slide with mom

The last one is a picture of Trent and Joss sliding down a huge inflated slide at the Halloween fair at Orange Grove park. I love how happy Trent and Joss look in the picture, but the best part is the girl who decided to slide down right after them, ha ha. By the way, Jocelyn was a butterfly for Halloween. More pictures to come . . .

Some more pictures

We still love going to Kidspace especially since the weather has been so hot lately. Jocelyn likes to try to copy what big kids do, like pushing this wheelbarrow.

Exploring the fountains

The Long Beach Aquarium. Although Jocelyn liked the fish and other marine animals, her favorite "exhibit" was the pigeons outside. Waiting and watching with Dad . . .

Okay I think this is a porpoise, but I could be wrong.

Photo fun

We bought a new bike seat for Joss, so now Trent takes her riding almost every day. They go to the YMCA, the park, and the duck pond. We got Joss some sweet sunglasses too.

Here is Jocelyn trying to bum a ride in her baby's stroller.

Naked and loving every second of it . . .

Snack time: dump all the Cheerios on the floor, then eat them one by one.

Happy belated birthday!

This post is a couple months late . . . We took Joss to Chuck E. Cheese for a family party to celebrate her 1 year birthday! I don't know who had more fun - Joss or Trent. :)

So what can Joss do now that she is one-year-old? She is walking great, trying to climb all over the place, and still entertaining us with her wiggle dance. Her vocabulary grows every day. She loves to say doggie, especially whenever she hears a dog barking. Other favorite words include baby, mama, daddy, bubbles, and Elmo. She is very affectionate and is always giving us hugs and kisses. She loves to nestle her head on anything soft and loves to sleep cuddled up with her favorite yellow fleece blanket. She LOVES books and just recently has started coloring with crayons. Joss really enjoys climbing up our huge Love Sac and rolling down. She enjoys tickling other people as well as being tickled. She is a little mischievous too; she has been known to pinch her parents and then say "OW" for them. She can climb up small slides and slide down alone. And last but not least she is still sleeping 11-12 hours a night! Yay!

Learning table manners

Jocelyn has started to figure out how to use utensils. She is getting pretty good, but sometimes she'll just throw her fork down and use her fingers because it's faster. Here she is eating one of her favorite fruits: KIWI!

Our little monkey

She can climb! Okay, this link does not seem to be working anymore unfortunately. It showed Joss skillfully climbing onto our coffee table. You'll just have to imagine it.

Thanks, Nancy!

Thank you to our next-door-neighbor Nancy for taking these awesome photos of Joss! We love you - even if you threw a scary bear-doll on our balcony!

Joss update: She loves to say "baby" and "doggie"!

another month

Sorry to be so delinquent but here is a brief update. Joss is walking!! I have to get it on video. It is so cute and she is sure enjoying her mobility. I hate it that she falls so much though and am considering putting two diapers on at a time for some extra padding. Okay just kidding. Other than that she continues to astound us with her affection, babbling, and contagious laughter. Joss is also still extremely curious and stubborn (like her mom, but I like to think of it as being persistent). 11.5 months has gone by so quickly but I have tried to enjoy every single day with Jocelyn.

River at Kidspace

Naked naptime - it has been so hot lately!

Garfield Park with Dad

First time at the beach!

Hanging out with Grandma Covington. Check out her camo headband made by Gina!

Just having a good time at home

Happy 4th of July! She still only has two little bottom teeth. So cute.

Riding in her new wagon with cousin Abbie

Big kisses for Grandma Giron
