Moving was a stressful, emotional chore (that I never want to do again, but will have to someday) but we did it! Trent did a great job packing up the house and then packing the U-haul trailer. The night before we left, I thought we were really never going to get everything out of our apartment. It didn't help that our friend Paul told us that we would be up all night packing! (But thanks for all your help, Paul!) It took us three days to get here with overnight stays in enchanting Mesquite, Nevada and beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. Actually our hotel in Mesquite was great and had a big waterfall in the pool:
Grand Junction was where we got our first taste of Colorado summer weather. It rained and then hailed on us! I love the weather though. It is hot during the day and then sometimes we get some great afternoon thunderstorms. Clouds are rolling in right now with awesome lightning. My Dad drove with Trent in the truck and my Mom drove with me and Joss. We are so thankful that they came with us! It was so nice for my mom to be there to help fulfill all of Joss' demands, such as "More Goldfish. More Cheez-Its. I want to watch Move It (Madagascar) or I want to watch Penguins (Surf's Up)." Ahh, the drive was beautiful, but I am glad it is over!
So we got here and managed to unpack everything with the help of our friends Tim and Ashlee. There was a lot of cleaning and organizing that we had to do. I honestly felt like we were camping the first few nights. Here are my parents sleeping on the Love Sac because the air mattress apparently lost some air during the night:
Here is Joss getting into trouble while we are unpacking:
There are a ton of things we love about our new home: washer and dryer that is not two flights of stairs away, more space, big backyard, the oak, maple, and aspen trees in the front yard, nice next-door-neighbors that we go to church with, short commute for me, great weather, and lots of fun things to do. Things that we miss are: family and friends, Trader Joe's, Garfield Park, Caltech turtles, and the Farmer's Market. Joss is really happy that we finally got cable because now she can watch Dora the Explorer all day long:
If you are ever in the Denver area, come stay with us!!
