Joss was a giraffe this year - the warmest costume we could find. You can tell she was real thrilled about having the hood on - which she took off immediately. The best part was the huge bum she was rocking!

Mi familia
I love my little family. Here are some random pictures . . .
Photo opportunity at the Denver Zoo. Too bad the elephant wouldn't turn around and smile for the camera.
Joss getting ready to go fishing with Dad
My two lovebugs on the beanbag
Here they are trying to trick me into thinking they are asleep!
I love this picture because it shows how happy Joss and Trent are. They love each other SO much.

Visitors
While Trent went to hunting camp in Wyoming, my parents, Aunt Dorothy, and friend for life Heather came to visit. We had an awesome time and Jocelyn was in heaven having so much attention. We went to the Denver Art Museum and ate at a restaurant with cliff divers. :) We also got to give Xena her first bath when she got into a fly trap filled with fermenting flies. UGH, I have NEVER smelled anything worse in my life! But all in all, it was a wonderful long weekend.

Here is Aunt Dorothy learning to use the Doodle Pro.

Hair
Jocelyn's hair is growing longer every day, which means we get to do some new fun hairstyles . . .

However, my hair got a lot shorter. I still have to mail in the donation - I have an 8-inch ponytail in a plastic bag. :)

October
We're still alive, even if the blog is somewhat dead. We have actually been having a lot of fun, but I am mourning the end of summer. Thankfully we left for California the weekend that the first snow storm hit here. On an even better note, today's high was 84 degrees! Other highlights of today were when Jocelyn said in church (loudly and several times): "I love you, Mommy." :) People probably think I am the best mom in the world.
Here is Jocelyn in her white dress she only wore once from a few months ago; no more white now that Labor Day is long gone. More recent pictures will be coming soon . . .

Family
Since moving to Denver, we have been lucky to have had lots of family visits. Trent's brother Ty lives nearby in Parker and they have done some fun stuff like finding mountain goats:
Two of Trent's (pregnant) sisters came to visit us. I didn't get a picture of Lindsey who was here for a business meeting. Jodie and her family were in Wyoming while Kyle helped announce at Cheyenne Frontier Days. (He was the best announcer they had, in our opinion!) Here are Jodie and McKay at Central Park:
And finally, we got to spend some time with Trent's mom Gwen when she was in town with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. We went to their concert at Red Rocks which was amazing! Thanks for the 4th row tickets, Gwen!
Gwen is in the very middle with short brown hair.
We hope more people will come to visit soon!!

Happy Birthday, Joss!
Okay so her 2nd birthday is really tomorrow, but she already has part of her present. Meet her kitty Roxy!! Joss loves to follow Roxy around and try to play with her, such as putting toys on her back, blankets on her face, and fingers in her eyes, mouth, nose. Roxy is actually pretty patient with her and I think they are going to be very good friends. Here is a picture of the pair looking for birds. :)

Joss.
I love this little girl. Thanks, Grandma Covington, for the adorable dress and bows!
She can sing the ABC's and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Start, but it has been very challenging to get her on tape. She likes to make up little songs too, but they mostly have the tune of the ABC's, such as "Ladybug, ladybug, ladybug song." Hope you enjoy this little movie:

So we moved to Denver.
Moving was a stressful, emotional chore (that I never want to do again, but will have to someday) but we did it! Trent did a great job packing up the house and then packing the U-haul trailer. The night before we left, I thought we were really never going to get everything out of our apartment. It didn't help that our friend Paul told us that we would be up all night packing! (But thanks for all your help, Paul!) It took us three days to get here with overnight stays in enchanting Mesquite, Nevada and beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. Actually our hotel in Mesquite was great and had a big waterfall in the pool:
Grand Junction was where we got our first taste of Colorado summer weather. It rained and then hailed on us! I love the weather though. It is hot during the day and then sometimes we get some great afternoon thunderstorms. Clouds are rolling in right now with awesome lightning. My Dad drove with Trent in the truck and my Mom drove with me and Joss. We are so thankful that they came with us! It was so nice for my mom to be there to help fulfill all of Joss' demands, such as "More Goldfish. More Cheez-Its. I want to watch Move It (Madagascar) or I want to watch Penguins (Surf's Up)." Ahh, the drive was beautiful, but I am glad it is over!
So we got here and managed to unpack everything with the help of our friends Tim and Ashlee. There was a lot of cleaning and organizing that we had to do. I honestly felt like we were camping the first few nights. Here are my parents sleeping on the Love Sac because the air mattress apparently lost some air during the night:
Here is Joss getting into trouble while we are unpacking:
There are a ton of things we love about our new home: washer and dryer that is not two flights of stairs away, more space, big backyard, the oak, maple, and aspen trees in the front yard, nice next-door-neighbors that we go to church with, short commute for me, great weather, and lots of fun things to do. Things that we miss are: family and friends, Trader Joe's, Garfield Park, Caltech turtles, and the Farmer's Market. Joss is really happy that we finally got cable because now she can watch Dora the Explorer all day long:
If you are ever in the Denver area, come stay with us!!

Happy Birthday, Trent!!!
Trent turned 29 today! His biggest wish has finally come true . . . Now that we are in a house with a big backyard, we got a puppy! Meet Xena, our adorable 3-month old Rottweiler. She already loves Trent to death and follows him everywhere. Joss and Xena fight over toys, but they mostly get along. I know I am slow to update the blog, but I'll put up more pictures soon. We miss everyone that we have had to say goodbye to and we hope to see you all soon!
Xena sleeping (I never knew puppies slept so much!)
Trent & Xena (Notice how his Dodger Bobbleheads in the background made the move intact. Too bad we can't find any of my socks!!)
